Howdy folks!

Tomorrow night, we will performing a benefit concert for the Inside Books Project at the historic Mercury Hall in south Austin.  This is an awesome opportunity to support a great cause, eat and drink delicious things, and see us play some rock and roll in a beautiful old hall.

The Inside Books Project (IBP) was founded in 1998 here in central Austin to address a sore lack of educational and reading materials in Texas prisons.  Many studies have shown that in-prison education decreases the likelihood of repeat offenses and prison sentences.  IBP has created a network of volunteers and donors to stock prison libraries with useful, valuable, and interesting books and resources.  You can help by volunteering your time, donating books, donating money, or...come rock out with The Bright Light Social Hour tomorrow night at the Mercury Hall.

Today we are tattered and sore-arsed from a long-hard weekend of rock and roll incontinence. Denton and Houston were totes excellent for first time visits, but the highlight was definitely playing last night's no holds barred UT party with our great friends and lovers The Frontier Brothers. After playing for 15 people in Houston the night before, it was good to be welcomed home by 100's of bloodthirsty, beer-spraying, love-loving maniacs, complete with butt-naked fire dancers, stage-diving crowd surfers, stage-dancing babes and someone threw a book at A.J.'s head (!!!???).
