Inside Books Project Benefit 11/30/2009
Howdy folks! Tomorrow night, we will performing a benefit concert for the Inside Books Project at the historic Mercury Hall in south Austin. This is an awesome opportunity to support a great cause, eat and drink delicious things, and see us play some rock and roll in a beautiful old hall. The Inside Books Project (IBP) was founded in 1998 here in central Austin to address a sore lack of educational and reading materials in Texas prisons. Many studies have shown that in-prison education decreases the likelihood of repeat offenses and prison sentences. IBP has created a network of volunteers and donors to stock prison libraries with useful, valuable, and interesting books and resources. You can help by volunteering your time, donating books, donating money, or...come rock out with The Bright Light Social Hour tomorrow night at the Mercury Hall.
