Friday afternoon in Saskatoon our van was broken into and we were burglarized of over $15,000 worth of our most beloved equipment, including Jack's custom P-bass, Curt's custom Telecaster guitar and Dr. Z amplifier, and nearly all of our luggage. We're trying our best to stay positive and move forward, but this loss will be a very difficult one to overcome. Therefore we're asking for your generosity and taking donations to help get us back on our feet and through the rest of the tour. Please follow the link to donate and find more details, including a full list of everything taken. Please pass this on, as even $1 helps very much. Although our insurance should cover roughly half of the financial loss, the guitars were invaluable to us, as they were built to our custom specifications and entirely one of a kind. Thanks so much to all our fans for your infallible support, and to everyone at Ness Creek Music Fest; a weekend deep in the woods with such loving people, great music and no internet or phones was immeasurably therapeutic.

Here is a list of everything taken. Information on any of the missing items would be deeply appreciated.
-Fender Custom Shop Telecaster, sonic blue with heavy physical wear (responds to Levon Helm) - $3450
-Fender Custom Shop Precision Bass, vintage blonde with heavy physical wear (responds to Harriet Tubman) - $2699
-Dr. Z Route 66 Amplifier, blonde - $1649
-Dave Smith Prophet '08 rack mount synthesizer - $1050
-Variety of DJ Equipment - $1700
-Luggage/personal belongings - $4900

The theft occurred between 3:30 and 4:30pm Friday, July 20 in the parking lot of Centre Mall (3510 8 Street East, Saskatoon, SK). The security video revealed that two males in a grey 2000's Dodge Caravan quickly and methodically dismantled our vehicle door lock and emptied it of valuables. Unfortunately no clear faces or license plate numbers could be seen in the tapes. The police have serial numbers for most everything and are doing what they can. Here are photos of the guitar and bass.

I'm sure your rich daddies will buy you all nice new "custom" instruments, you whiny fucking crybabies. grow the fuck up, suck it up, and move on. its not the instruments that define you as musicians.

Post a list of stolen gear WITH SERIAL #'s on www.thegearpage.net . there is a section for stolen equipment. Highly recommend you put it up there. 1000's of people read that and most are musicians looking out for other musicians. Good luck dudes. Always carry at least the guitars into your hotel room every single night. Been playing for 30 years, I never leave my guitar unattended. If I go to a restaurant, I sit where I can see my vehicle. I never leave guitars in cars overnight , never.

the way Hagstrom feels is EXACTLY the way the thief does. I'll rip off yer stuff cuz .. it just shouldn't be there. I helped recover a stolen bass back in the early 80's ... my Bass player bought the stolen bass [62 Candy apple red Jazz modified] in a bar for $100. I was in the refinishing biz at the time and was asked to re-finn it ... when I inquired why such a gorgeous bass needed to be re-finned and subsequently told the story ... I of course refused ... and left the band. 2 yrs later when playing a gig with another band, I was informed by the lighting guy to keep a lookout for just this bass ... I reported to the authorities, bass was recovered and though I didn't know the musician at the time, we are now friends ... as it turns out, he was the bass player for Edward Bear back in the early 70's.
Musicians support musicians!
I truly hope the f**ks that stole the gear, electrocute themselves with it.

Love TBLSH and feel terrible that this happened. One of the best bands to come out of Austin in many years. For the haters posting idiotic comments here, when touring like these guys are, it is logistically impossible to guard your van/trailer 24/7. And that really isn't even the point....... ATX512 and Hagestrom -> somehow you think it's OK to steal other people's shit. You also probably think it's OK to rape and pillage if you can get away with it.....and you'd probably blame the victims. Think before commenting..... if it were your stuff that got nicked, you'd be singing a different tune I'd bet.
